Spring Field opened in 1993, has the distinction of having been designed by the great Jack Nicklaus. Although designed to meet the requirements of championship golf, this course still manages to offer an enjoyable challenge for golfers of all standards. The first hole is a par 4, gentle 367 yards and can, at first, appear quite simple. However, looks can be deceiving and this well protected green can be surprisingly difficult, requiring some accuracy. What with its inspired layout, scenic views over streams, lakes and the gulf of Thailand, you might easily find this course quite addictive. Off the greens, the clubhouse, located in an elevated position that offers some fine views, is beautifully finished in polished marble and granite, and feels more like a stately home than a golf course.
